May/June 2012

Volume 22 • Number 5 • Our 184th Issue

Sometimes the only way to turn your dreams into achievements is the hard way. Steve Iacona set out to build his entry to the 2011 AMD World Championships with his own two hands, and we’re not talking about the hands you use to open parts books and swipe plastic. “The more difficult the idea, the more I wanted to do it,” said Steve, whose craft and attention to detail are more than evident on this issue’s cover bike. Be sure to take a minute or ten to appreciate the touches that won this bike first place in the IMS Ultimate Builder U.S. Championships in Daytona. Try to find something that doesn’t get a nod of respect; we challenge you!
